Barbie Lylyth!

All righty, I've been going in order for a while in how I painted, but I've decided to say MEH and go in order however I wish. So, last night, I had my wonderful friend Katie come on over and we had a painting session. I've been talking about painting a Barbie-themed Lylyth for quite a while because I had an extra model of her. Well, Katie found a perfect pink for me, and I finally got to.

And here is Barbie Lylyth! Spent all of our painting session on her. I look at her and think Superhero. What do you think? I'm totally going to use her in game someday just because she looks really cool. Stylish AND kickass--what more could you want?

The paint took a bit to get used to because it is actually an enamel, as Katie told me. Shiny and hard on my brushes, though Dawn dish soap cleaned them right up, I think it came out really well. I was unsure on mixing it, but it came out all right--that's how I got the varied effects on the cloak. I also added a darker pink to the mix to get the shadows on her cloak, because I don't like to make things darker with just black--I like to darken them with a similar color so it still has a vibrancy to it. I painted all of her armor that pink, then went and dry brushed silver over it to pull out those details and switch it up a bit. I thought just a straight white would look nice in contrast, and I was right. I didn't have any yellow for her hair, so I actually used a gold metallic I have and dulled it a bit with white. Hey, blond hair kind of shines--that was what I told myself. All in all, I am very pleased with how she turned out. I love the Lylyth model in general, so now I have two--a purple one and a pink one. ^^
