Nephilim Protector

My first light warbeast!

This is my Nephilim Protector. Look a bit different from my other beasts? Perhaps that because of all that armor he has on. And, ya know, the giant halberd he's wielding.

This guy wasn't too hard, actually, and I still enjoyed painting him. I wanted my armor to be a bit different from how I usually do my infantry armor because, well, he's a beast. So I went with a blue that I mixed with some silver to give it a bit of a sheen. The spikes are a dark bronze color and the detailing and siding are all a light silver. His weapon matches, of course. His skin I actually based as a plain gray, then just went and put several layers of violet over it to give him the usual purple look.

Now, there's supposed to be a few more pieces on him--two wings stubs up on his back, beside his spines. Weeeeeell, I lost one. Oops. So I just decided I'd leave off the other one as well. I mean, why does he even have them to begin with? He doesn't fly.

Now, he's not a game changing piece, but he is pretty handy. This is a piece you keep near your warlock, because he has Shield Guard, which means if a friendly model that is within two inches of him is hit by a ranged attack, he can take the damage instead. He also has Empathic Transference, which means a warlock can transfer damage to him even if he is full on fury, which normally, you cannot do. Handy, like I said. He's got a couple of other tricks, but like I said, he isn't a game changing piece, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have him around. I've used him a couple times and he's helped my warlock several times. ^^
